Why the BOICI Golf Day?
The Bay of Islands Construction Industry Golf Day is your chance to connect directly with the local building community all in one day - Friday 16 October 2026.
As a hole sponsor, you’ll meet and network with 18+ building companies as they make their way around the course. Each sponsor sets up on a hole, runs a fun game or giveaway, and chats with every team that comes through. It’s relaxed, social, and a great way to build real relationships. The challenge to you is, how do we make sure we are memorable?
Held at the Kerikeri Golf Club, the day includes food, drinks, a charity auction, and over $10,000 in prizes, including a $70,000 ute for a hole-in-one.
It’s an unbeatable opportunity to showcase your business, support the Men’s Shed & Oromahoe School, and be part of one of the Bay’s most enjoyable networking events.

Aside from networking, we are pretty passionate about supporting worthy local causes.
A Men’s Shed brings men together in one community space to share their skills, have a laugh, and work on practical tasks individually (personal projects) or as a group (for the shed or community).
The sort of projects a shed tackles is entirely up to the shed concerned, however most sheds around New Zealand take on some community projects, examples of which include building playgrounds for pre-school centres, repairing toy library stock, repairing old bikes for distribution to poorer communities, building planter boxes for the main street of the local central business district, and the list goes on.
Oromahoe School was established more than 150 years ago to serve the local community and was staffed by teachers from the Mission, later becoming a Native and Māori School.
It is now a full Primary School catering for up to 200 New Entrant to Intermediate aged students. They are attended by children from a very wide catchment area in the bay of islands.
The school relies on fundraisers like these to provide the best experience they can to the children.

Hole in One Hole $2200
Take charge of the most exciting hole on the course. If any player hits a hole in one - they win a prize valued at $50k!! Prize tbc, and can be related to your brand.

Drinks Cart $2000
Be the life of the party and most popular person on the course. Each cart will look after 6 holes on the course, and will serve supplied drinks

Gambling Hole $1500
Convince as many people as you can, to risk some cash to win big. The players can wager their own golf ability - to double, triple and lose their money!

This is one of the biggest engagement holes.

Prize Hole $1500
Run a hole with a predetermined game ie Long Drive, Closest to the Pin etc.

Standard Hole $1000
Run a hole however you want. Bring your own creativity and enthusiasm to make it a hole to remember.

Putting Comp $1000
Run the putting comp on the practice green. Players will particpate as they move from hole 18 to hole 1.

Flag Sponsorship $1600
Have your logo on every flag on each hole.

Ideally payment is made within 7 days of signing up as a sponsor.
Please speak to James if you need to make other arrangements.

We invite you to come and start setting up from 8am. There are a lot of moving parts to setting up this tournament, so the earlier we can be ready the better.
The golfers are out on the course from 9:45am, it is ideal that you are in place when the first group arrives.
The golf takes between 4-5 hours, followed by prizegiving and socialising in the clubroom afterwards.
You’re best to book out the entire day (and some of the night).

The real benefit of the day is to make relationships. In our experience the best way to do this, isn’t to sell yourself too hard as you don’t have a lot of time with each group.
The best idea is to make yourself memorable. Come up with a small game or giveaway, to engage the golfers.

Every dollar that we don’t spend on the costs of the day, go to the Men’s Shed & Oromahoe School.
The 2025 event raised over $14,000, which went towards the school’s new playground.
Please know that while you are getting great benefit out of the day from your networking, you are also making a difference to our community!
